Massage: The Importance of Rest

“Sometimes the most important thing in a whole day is the rest we take between two breaths”. . . and yet for many of us our lives have become so full, so busy, and so consuming that those rest periods feel non-existent and feel non-important.  Awareness and small steps can bring change.  There are many ways to find more quiet, more peace, more stillness, more rest and rejuvenation in our full and busy days.  It could be as simple as taking the time in your day to “consciously breathe”, spend time in nature, meditate in any form, “un-plug”, attend a yoga class ….or any activity that you connect with that brings deep rest.  Ironically, the key to the activity is the effortlessness and non-doing that is the doing.

Massage can also be “the rest between two breaths”.  It provides 60 or 90 minutes in your day of “unplugging” – not only to your phone and computer but to demands from friends, family, work, relationships, finances and anything else that competes for your attention and energy.  There are numerous studies that show that a deeper sense of calm and increased energy can be achieved as a direct result from massage.  If you are interested in receiving your “rest between two breaths” individual sessions or packages are available at CranioSacral Therapy and Massage.
