Positional Release

Positional Release

Positional Release is a gentle manual therapy technique that is rooted in osteopathy.  This modality is also referred to as Functional Osteopathic Technique, Strain-Counter Strain, Integrated Neuromuscular Inhibition, Facilitated Positional Release and Ortho-Bionomy to name a few.

Positional Release is effective for all kinds of pains and strains, postural distortion, and limited mobility.  It reduces pain and restores normal function to muscle, bones and joints.    In contrast to other therapies that may “dig” into an area of tension or restriction,  Positional Release takes the strain off the area and puts the body in a position of greater ease and comfort.  With proper application this allows the nervous system to reset itself releasing chronic and acute tensions, increases blood and oxygen supply and restores normal function to the muscles, bones, and joints.

Positional Release can be performed alone or can be incorporated in any session, immediate results are often experienced.
